Plan and prepare ahead of time if you want to get admitted to such competitive schools as MIT, Princeton, Cornell, Carnegies Mellon etc.  Two years ahead of the application due date would be the norm.

One of the students from Malaysia was admitted to MIT with the following SAT Subject scores:  Chemistry, Physics and Maths Level 2, with a score of 770, 790 and 760 respectively.

The above test scores were much better than the SAT Reasoning scores, so it takes some of the “punch” out, but the fact remains that the test scores are one piece of the whole application package.
